Skylight Health Research, with clinics in Burlington, MA and Colorado Springs, CO, is a leading research site network dedicated to advancing healthcare and evidenced-based medicine through clinical trials. We offer the public opportunities to participate in clinical trials, ensuring a safe and efficient experience.
Our commitment to accessibility supports new investigators eager to contribute to research. As an independently-owned organization, we provide Sponsors and CROs access to two distinct clinical sites, each with unique investigators and specialized capabilities.

MEET THE TEAM
Skylight Health Research is a boutique group of fully-owned research sites. We have the structure, technology, and efficiency of a large site network, but the passion and responsiveness of a small, independent site.
Our leaders have been in research their entire careers. Their drive to advance evidence-based medicine, and make a difference in the field is why our team is so deeply committed and invested in clinical research. Our leadership team has more than 30 combined years of clinical research experience over more than 50 trials.

Alisha Garibaldi - CEO & Founder

Alisha began her career in clinical research as a Research Assistant. She has worked in all sides of research from site to CRO to sponsor. Alisha developed a passion for research immediately and has been dedicated to the progression of evidence-based research for almost 15 years.
After spending many years of her career chasing sites for answers, documents, and data, she now runs Skylight as her favorite sites were always run – with quick turnaround times and clean data. She aims to empower patients, staff, and providers to understand the breadth of difference they can make in the world through their contributions. Alisha began the framework of what would become Skylight Health Research as a small department in a large primary care company, building the program from the ground up before separating into a stand-alone company in 2023.
Everything at Skylight comes back to the integrity of the science being studied. To Alisha, Skylight isn’t just a business that needs running, it’s part of a puzzle to bring a better tomorrow to patients, by advancing medicine together.
Deirdre Burke, NP, MPH - Director of Research, Investigator, Burlington Lead

Deirdre began her career in research as a laboratory manager for a freshwater ecology lab assessing water quality, and over the past 14+ years has worked her way up from microbes to people.
Having worked for years as a laboratory technician, biostatistician, and research coordinator across multiple genres of science and medicine, she has gained a unique set of skills and passion that have led her to her role as Nurse Practitioner and Director of Research with Skylight Health Research.
At Skylight, Deirdre is able to take her passion for patient care and research and lead trial teams across multiple states as a Principal and Sub-Investigator.
Natalie Perini, Director of Site Development

Natalie began her career as a Research Assistant in a Biomedical R&D laboratory supporting the U.S. Army, where she built a strong foundation in regulated research environments and scientific operations. During this time, she gained valuable experience in research methodology, regulatory compliance, and data integrity—skills that would shape her long-term career in clinical research.
With more than 14 years of experience in the clinical research field, Natalie has developed deep expertise across key areas of study operations, including study start-up, regulatory management, audit preparation, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC), and site development. She has worked closely with research institutions and clinical sites to support efficient study activation, maintain regulatory compliance, and uphold high operational standards. Her practical, solutions-focused approach has helped organizations navigate complex regulatory requirements while strengthening research operations.
Natalie remains passionate about advancing clinical research and supporting the growth of research teams and institutions. She partners with clinical sites to strengthen operational infrastructure by improving workflows, reinforcing quality systems, and implementing sustainable processes that support long-term success. Through her collaborative approach, Natalie helps research organizations enhance performance, improve efficiency, and successfully deliver high-quality clinical trials.
Kara Hommerding, PA-C - Investigator, Colorado Springs Lead

Kara is a Physician’s Assistant with 21 years of clinical experience in general medicine and dermatology, and brings a comprehensive, patient-centered approach to clinical research. With a strong clinical foundation managing diverse patient populations, she supports clinical trial conduct through subject evaluations, medical assessments, and safety monitoring.
She values patient education and informed consent and is known for her approachable, patient-centered style, which supports participant engagement and adherence throughout the duration of clinical trials. Kara is committed to advancing evidence-based medicine through ethically conducted clinical research, with a focus on patient safety, protocol adherence, and data integrity. She works collaboratively with research teams, sponsors, and study participants to ensure accurate data collection and a positive study experience.
Skylight Health Research History
Skylight Health Research began as part of a larger primary care organization in 2021, with the goal of making research more accessible to primary care clinics across the United States. In early 2023, Skylight stepped out as an independent company to accelerate our goals of simplifying and streamlining research participation for sponsors, CROs, providers, and participants alike.
As an independent research site network, we have full ownership over our three clinical trial sites which allows us to make decisions and move quickly. Since 2023, we have adopted multiple technologies to increase our compliance and standardize processes, launched trials in 4 new study indications, and enrolled over 1500 participants.
We continue to strive to deliver the highest quality data with timely turnaround while remaining aligned with our passion for medical science.
